Flaky Tea Biscuits

Preheat oven to 425F

Mix together

2 cups / 500 ml white flour

1 tbsp/ 15 ml baking powder

1/4 tsp/ 1 ml salt

Cut in with a pastry blender,

1/2 cup / 125 ml shortening or butter

Stir in

1 cup / 25o ml 1% milk just until you have a soft dough. Turn out on a lightly floured surface and knead 8-10 times. Roll out about 1″ (2.5cm) thick and cut with a biscuit cutter (8-12 biscuits).

Bake in a preheated oven on an ungreased cookie sheet for 12 to 15 minutes, until golden.
